Armchair Astronomy Comet Curiosities: Unexpected Behaviors

Wednesday, August 8 4:00-5:00 P.M. 

Comets, those chunks of ice and rock that orbit the sun, occasionally appear to have a sense of humor. Sometimes they pass through interesting areas in space, impact on the sun, survive unexpected heat, and impact planets or moons with unexpected force. They've been seen to lose and then quickly regrow their tails, and the tails can point in various directions. Ken VanLew shares more astronomical facts with us at this illustrative presentation.

The Joy of Singing

Spring Session 2: Tuesdays, May 8-29 (4 weeks) • 1:30–3:30 P.M.

If you love to sing, this class is for you! Ear training, proper singing, group harmony and more will be covered while we sing some DooWop and songs from the 50s, 60s and up through the decades. Class will be introduced to writing their own song and behind the scenes at a recording studio. Singing experience preferred. Taught by Helena Lind.
