Exciting News for Shalom Baby and The PJ Library!
Shalom Baby and The PJ Library have expanded into North County! Thanks to a very generous donation from The Leichtag Family Foundation, we will be able to subscribe new families in San Diego County to receive PJ Library books! New programs, classes, and activities will be offered in North County coastal and inland communities to better meet the needs of these Shalom Baby and PJ Library families.
We want to find and welcome unaffiliated Jewish and intermarried families throughout our county to be involved in Shalom Baby and The PJ Library. If your child is 6 months - 5 1/2 years and they are not receiving PJ Libray books, please go to www.pjlibrary.org to sign them up. Please send referrals to Judy Nemzer at shalombaby@lfjcc.com or for North County residents to Vivien Dean at shalombabyncounty@lfjcc.com

Honor Tribute Cards
Do you have a friend or relative with a passion for Jewish continuity? Are they celebrating a milestone or special celebration (a birth, bar/bat mitzvah, anniversary or birthday) in their life? You can make a charitable gift in his/her honor when you donate to Shalom Baby. Provide the name and address of the person yo would like to honor and we will mail a special card telling them of the gift you have made. Memorial Tribute Cards
Would you like to pay tribute to someone you were close to with a memorial gift in his/her name? You can make a
charitable gift in his/her memory when you donate to Shalom Baby. Provide the name of the person the gift is nin memory of as well as the name and address of the person that will receive the memorial card, andwe
will mail a special card telling them of the gift you have made. To fill

Introducing the PJ Library (FREE)
Looking for a way to nurture the parent-child bond and strengthen your offspring’s Jewish identity? Read them a book courtesy of PJ Library. Brought to San Diego by Harold Grinspoon Foundation, the PJ Library — that’s right, PJ stands for pajama — provides children ages six months to five years with a Jewish children’s book or CD every month! And, thanks to a generous donation from the Leichtag Foundation and the Viterbi Family Foundation of the Jewish Community Foundation of San Diego.

Viterbi Family Baby Book Club
Book Clubs are not exclusively for Oprah fans!
Designed for 10 - 18 month olds, the BBC promotes pre-literacy for our youngest children. While developing an appreciation for books and reading, their parents develop a network of new friends. This one hour monthly program includes group storytelling, flannel board stories, art projects, and music.

San Diego Music Together
We're partnering with the very popular "San Diego Music Together." Music Together classes are parent/caregiver interactive and based on the recognition that all children are musical. They can learn to sing in tune, keep a beat, and develop musical confidence when actively participating in music experiences. Parents/caregivers receive 2 CDs and a songbook to encourage family participation in spontaneous musical activity at home. For children ages 0-4 years. $197/10-week session.

Infant Massage
Massages are soothing, relaxing, and healing for adults. Infants receive the same benefits and more!
Infant Massage is a natural and soothing way to promote infant health. A certified Infant Massage Instructor teaches parents techniques which will provide many benefits for their babies and at the same time offer a very special bonding period.
Benefits include: relief of discomfort for teething, congestion, colic, constipation and emotional stress, and enhancement of neurological development, sleep, muscle tone development, and strengthening of the immune system.
Mondays from 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.

Post-Natal Pilates and Nutrition Class - North County
New session beginning March 2012!
This 4 week class will give you the tools to feel your best by:
increasing your strength and energy and decreasing your cravings.
This class begins with a 25 minute pilates mat workout where moms will learn:
- To connect to your body through breath and movement
- Strengthen abdominal muscles and pelvic floor
- Simple, effective exercises that you can practice at home with your baby
Following your workout is a nutrition discussion including:
- New foods to renew vitality and promote breast-feeding
- Food prep and cooking demos
- Time saving tools and recipes
- Lots of sampling

NEW CLASS - MOMMY & ME YOGA
Mommy & Me Yoga classes at the JCC offered by Rebecca Teriete. Rebecca has been teaching yoga since 2002 and now as a new mom will be teaching our yoga class.
Four week session that will take place from 10:30 - 11:30 am in the Dance Room at the JCC. The fee is $60/4 classes. Session runs Thursday, February 23 2012 through March 15, 2012.

Baby Signs
We are partnering with Joann Woolley, instructor and owner of Sign4baby. Joann shares the joy of signing with parents and caregivers. "I am passionate about the importance of understanding little people, and determined that all parents should know of this tool that is available to them."
Are you ready to "Discover what your baby is thinking"? Baby sign language increased bonding, reduces frustration for parents and babies, increases learning aptitude of children, and provides great enjoyment in early communication. Join us in a fun interactive class for you and your baby where we use music, toys, books, and playful activities to bring signs to life for your child. Not only is this a great time to learn new signs and bond with your baby, it is a space to share what successes or roadblocks you've had in signing or PARENTING in general.
Next session begins Thursday, April 12th, 2012 from 12:30 - 1:30pm.
Registration is required. Cost is $125/6 week session. This covers one parent and baby pair.

We are so excited about our upcoming baby and children's clothing gear swap for ages newborn to preschool!
Please only bring items you would want your children to play with or wear (clean and gently used) and come get new things for your little one(s) for free! Before you arrive, please separate your items between "clothing" and "everything else" and count them.

Pathways to Judaism
We are pleased to be partnering with Pathways to Judaism to bring you this amazing series. Are you an interfaith couple or family? Do you want to learn more about Jewish life and traditions? This program provides a creative educational experience open to adults and children not affiliated with a synagogue.
Pathways welcomes you to our community with an introduction to: Jewish customs, history, values, holidays and more. Traditional music, art and literature are woven throughout the program.
Pathways is:
- Sensitive, comfortable, and respectful of backgrounds of all family members
- Personalized with varied classes geared to adult learning, children's activities and joint family sessions
