The Youth Department at the JCC provides a nurturing and safe environment, a caring and professional staff, and enriching and quality programs. We offer a wide variety of programs to ensure we have the perfect activity for your child's interests and your schedule.
Bus Transportation is available from many local schools.

JUNIOR ENVIRONMENTALIST.......Grades K–6
Earth Interaction Camp
Spring into nature with us! This camp will have your explorer excited about the world around
them. Our fun-filled week will kick off with our favorite camp activities such as games, arts &
crafts, and swimming. Our specialty projects will have campers interacting with the earth by
gardening, cooking with organic food, and ending the week with an exciting field trip to the
flower fields.
$250/JCC Member; $300/Non-member
TENNIS CAMP..................Grades 3–7
Ken Heidman, Head Teaching pro, will lead this tennis-training program, assisted by a
staff experienced in working with younger players. Tennis Camp is appropriate for campers
of all skill levels who wish to improve their game. Each morning will focus on the fundamental
areas: covering ground strokes, serves, volleys, match play, fitness and footwork. In the
afternoon, the tennis and archery camps will combine for swimming and other activities.
$250/JCC Member ; $300/Non-member
FENCING CAMP...................Grades 3–7
Be a part of something new and exciting this summer. Camp Jaycee is partnering with
Team Touché Fencing Center! Each morning your camper(s) will be bussed to Team
Touché Fencing Center in Sorrento Valley where they will learn the art, history and techniques
of fencing. They will play games, and even partifipate in their very own fencing tournament!
This winter camp is enlightening, physical and exciting! In the afternoon, camp will also
include all the traditional camp activities.
$250/JCC Member ; $300/Non-member

MAD SCIENCE.......Grades K–6
Energy, Forces and Flight
Join mad Science and learn the fundamentals of flight as you experiment with a variety of gliders
and build you very own high-flying stunt plane! Uncover the mysterious wonders of air pressure as
you suspend ping-pong balls in a blast of air. Explore the mystery of chemistry as you mix and swirl
chemicals to create bubbling reactions. Dive into the investigation of waves, density and buoyancy
and make your own multi-density wave modulator. Experiment with inertia, many other fantastic
forces, and tour the electron freeway as you examine current and static electricity. Take home
projects include Skyhawk Plane, Crystal Garden, Wave Modulator, Electroscope, Vortex Generator
and more!.

HORSEBACK RIDING............Grades 3–7
All aspects of horse manship and sports manship are taught in the fun and safe environment at
Rockin’ L&D Ranch. Everyone rides every day! Camp includes special guest speakers, arts &
crafts, equine care, and more. On the last day campers parti cipate in a horse show and mounted
drill team demonstration (intermediate riders). Each day also includes traditional activities and
swimming.
$495/JCC Member; $570/Non-member

J-Team After School Enrichment Program (K-6)
Imagine capturing the feeling of summer camp year round! J-Team is one of the most exciting after school enrichment programs available. It is filled with adventure and fun in a supportive, enlightening environment. The program is based on a variety of themes and each day will highlight a special activity such as swimming, computers, science, art, sports, games, cooking, free time in the gym and more! There is also quiet time for those children who wish to do their homework and independent study. Weekend and holiday programs are also available throughout the year.

Our After-school enrichment program is staffed by highly qualified, creative, and energetic counselors,
who are committed to providing your children with a fun, nurturing, and safe environment.
J-TEAM HOURS
• M/T/TH: 2:00-6:00pm
• WEDNESDAYS: 12:00-6:00pm
• FRIDAYS: 2:00-5:00pm
J-TEAM FEES
We sell after care time in 60-hour cards that never expire, in advance. Highlights of the program: your children can come from one day a week for 1 hour up to 5 days a week for 15+ hours, whatever fits your schedule.
$7.25 per hour/JCC Members . . . . . . . . . . . $435.00 per 60 hour card
$8.00 per hour/Non-members . . . . . . . . . . $480.00 per 60 hour card
BUS SUPERVISION FEE
We transport from local schools including but not limited to Doyle, Curie, Spreckles, Ocean Air, Standley and San Diego Jewish Academy. If your school is not listed please call because we will be adding to our present locations.
Bus Transportation Supervision Fee (per month)
1 day/wk: $25
2 days/wk: $30
3 days/wk: $35
4-5 days/wk: $50
Fees: Based on Number of days a week. The JCC must be notified in advance if your child will not be taking the bus for a specific day. We walk children to the JCC from La Jolla Country Day
